As we know in blogs where posts related to many categories and many stuffs are present, Adsense show the ads related to either each individual post or shows something irrelevant.When the ads displayed are related to the individual blog posts they might not be relevant to your blog’s main theme/topic and your blog readers won’t click those adsense ads as they are interested in your blog’s main theme - not the content of that post. So because of this your adsense CTR Rate or clicks decreases and you loose a lot of adsense money even tough you get same traffic.
Let’s consider a worst case that might happen - suppose you own a make money online blog and your blog’s theme is make money online tips but you have a post regarding your blog’s stats, then in this post adsense would show some website stats checker websites in the ads and your users won’t click those ads as they are completely irrelevant to them who came to your blog to get make money tips .They would be interested to get/click ads showing make money websites as this is related to your blog theme.
How To Make Adsense Show Ads related To Blog’s Theme Or Specific Section Of Your Blog
The trick is known one - of Section Targeting Contents of your blog you want. This would say adsense to display ads related to that part/section of your blog’s content which you target.If you want adsense to show ads related to your blog’s theme not post contents then follow this section targeting technique using some google’s special tag < !-- google_ad_section_start -- > and < !-- google_ad_section_end -- -- > before the content and the end tag after the content you want to target. See an example bellow.Just remove spaces if any in the tags as we have provided spaces for formatting
< ! -- google_ad_section_start -->
This is the section of content related to which the adsense would display, so you can put your blog’s main theme like description or keywords with in these google tags and adsense would show ads related to these i.e. related to your blog’s theme.
< !-- google_ad_section_end -->
The above google tags (remove spaces if any with in the tag) ask the adsense to show ads related to those stuffs that are written in between them.
How To Make Adsense Ignore A Section Of Our Blog
Put the google ignore tags < !- - google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> and < !-- google_ad_section_end -- > Â before and after the content which you want adsense to ignore and not show ads related to them. Remember to remove the spaces within the tag as I’ve given spaces with in those to display to people else it would be parsed as html and not shown.
Which Part Of Blog To Target For Complete Relevancy And High CTR
Category : The best part of the blog to target is categories block in the sidebar because your blog readers are looking for stuffs like posts, articles, info, links related to your blog’s categories and they would like to click some links (adsense ads) related to them as that’s completely relevant. Clicks and CTR increases and the earnings too.
This can be done by adding the two google section targeting tags and < ! -- google_ad_section_start --> before and < ! -- google_ad_section_end --> after the category block in the sidebar of your theme by editing the sidebar.php (of your theme). Obviouslyremove the spaces in the tag.
Footer Of The Post You would note that the footer of the posts consists of a section made to describe the categories in which it’s posted. When you see the footer of the post you would see text like “….this post is mad under categories make money online, reviews and earn money and was posted on date time….”. there the categories in which the posts are made can be targeted.This should not be done in the blog’s index page but only in the single post pages/permalink pages. It can be easily done by editing your theme’s single.php or singlepost.php and finding the codes which generates the categories for the post and adding those tags before n after it.
Add Extra Stuffs You can add a 1-2 line blog’s description to the footer or any other suitable place of your blog and wrap the google tags before & after it to get ads completely related to blog’s theme (description). Suppose your blog is on make money online theme you can add following description with in those tags - “Get tips on how to make money online, blogging tips and how to make money with blogs.” then your ads will show links related to make money online, blogging tips and make money online with blogs which is completely related to your theme your clicks increase. Don’t forget to put your blog’s top keywords in the text with in the tags.
Which Part Of The Blog Should Be Hidden From Adsense
Comments The comments made by different users are different and also different from blog’s theme, post content so to get more related ads we can ask adsense to ignore the comments made to our posts.
It is up to you to ignore the post contents even to target only your blog’s theme like targeting categories, description to get more relevant ads but ignoring post content won’t be good in many cases.
Also if you don’t target your blog posts’ content then the search engine traffic who would visit your blogpost by searching something would have more tendency click on ads related to your blogposts’s content rather than blog’s theme.Still then targeting blog’s theme but not ignoring the post content is very much recommended. Again if you have any problems doing this i mean editing your theme’s files then you can place a comment to get help and remember to take a backup of files before editing them.
Note: remove spaces in the tag i shown.Â
