Google Updates Pagerank. Check The Story Of This PR Update. Now We Are PR3

Now the next time for a PR update is mid January 2008 as all we know because last one was in September/october (even now) but now just today i see Google Toolbar showing our blog http://bloggingtruths.com PR 3 and also same results if I check with Dig PageRank PR Checker. So we are doing well on SEO and some of our articles get good links too. But I was surprised to see because this is not the normal time for pagerank update by google as mid January 2008 is the time. How ever most webmasters say that this time Google has crazily ranked the sites - Dipped PRs of many good sites and PRs os many new sites got boosted. Let’s look how.

Google is doing a special PR checking and updating only to punish all those sites who gain high PR by buying paid links especially the PR breakdown of good sites like aviva directory and other link directories who sell links to increase PR. Be careful if you have sites dealing with paid linking and paid linking only for increasing PR as google is dipping their PRs. For normal sites which maintain their Pagerank even after the Google penalty wave that ate up PR of many famous sites dealing paid links to increase PR as i said earlier. That also includes Aviva Directory which is was most popular paid web directory known for it’s quality backlinks. It’s PR dipped from 6 to 4 and anything less than PR 5 is quite common.

Many of old sites retained their PR and it did not increase for most of the sites as this is a update to drive out paid linking only. But new sites/blogs like us who are quite well indexed in google but are too new have chucked up good pageranks. We have become PR3 in 1.5 months of being online. So it’s new sites that took advantage of this PR update. I don’t know any special reason behind this but I’m happy. Almost all old sites have same PR except google penalized sites.
