Here are the most important parameters(ranking) that judge how effective & how popular is your blog & where does it stand in this blogosphere full of blogs and finally decides your blog’s earning potential. The advertisers who want to buy sponsored reviews or banner ads in your blog pay you on the basis of these rankings(parameters). So as a rule of thumb better are your blog rankings the more you gonna earn from your blog.

Alexa Traffic Ranking -
This is a crucial parameter which shows an indication of how much visitors visit your blog daily.Higher is your blog’s traffic lesser or better is the Alexa Rank (less in number/rank=better).That’s why when you have a good (less in number) Alexa rank advertisers pay more since their advertisements on your blog would be seen by more visitors. Alexa rank of every site you visit can be found out by installing & activating Alexa Toolbar in your browser & only those visits are counted for alexarank where visitor has Alexa Toolbar installed in his browser. We have a alexa rank of 240k which is never bad for 3 mos old blog.

Google PageRank - (check pagerank of your blog using this tool) Most of advertisers who look for text link advertisements & some of sponsored post advertisers who buy sponsored reviews for links only pay you more if you have a good Google PageRank or PR. PR 3 is better and you would get many opportunities for paid posts at sites like PayPerPost. PR3 blog is considered normal but you can get good $$ for paid posts & PR6 is considered great. But many review buyers especially those in ReviewMe ignore pagerank as they buy posts to spread the buzz which I think is genuine. We have pr3 now but expect pr 5 in next PR update which is on mid January.

Technorati Rank - This is decided by Technorati Authority of your blog which indicates how many blogs (different domains) link you in any of their posts or any page. Higher Technorati authority implies good (less in number) Technorati rank of your blog which means some advertisers will rate your blog and treat it as high authority blog. Hence your blog is more popular & authority one with good Technorati ranking & hence you will earn more. This blog’s current technorati rank is about 99k & is improving as more people/bogs are linking to our quality articles.

Number Of RSS Feed Subscribers - More is RSS feed subscriber count of your blog larger is the audience of your posts. so all your posts reach that many number of people besides your daily visitors. Sponsored post advertisers at places like ReviewMe take this seriously while paying you for review in your blog because if you have more feed subscribers the sponsored posts that you make in your blog would get high audience. We have about 65 feed subscribers now.

Number Of Comments - This is an informal parameter used by some advertisers to checkout if your blog has comments for good posts or is one sided one. But this has been obsolete & most of them ignore them.

Out of these rank some sponsors look for combination according to their marketing policies.ReviewMe rates or ranks your blog by combining your blog’s Alexa rank, Technorati rank,Feed subscriber count & you would earn more per review if your blog has good numbers for those rankings. While some sponsored posts usually in webmaster forums seekers look for combination of Alexa Traffic Rank & Google PageRank of your blog. So maintaining a pr3 and above is good. Google PR is never a problem because it is not so important in blogging now.

Soon I’ll post many tips on having a better Alexa rank, Technorati rank & you can try my tip to increase the number of feed subscribers in your blog.
